High school fave

During lunch time as a senior high school student, I spend time with my friends and classmates. Casually sit down and have a chat, joke around, annoy the hell out of each other. But what we really expect from each other during that time was what our lunch would be. Because sometimes we’ll trade and sometimes we’ll be selfish because it’s what we want. Half of my friends on the table normally have packed lunches from their home. I buy my lunch at the school canteen. I always go for one of the items in out canteen. It was carbonara, I wasn’t looking forward to the carbonara as a whole, I really wanted the sauce. Luckily the little stand in the canteen had this item that has rice, chicken tonkatasu, and the very delicious carbonara sauce. My friends would often trade with me for their lunches cuz they like the sauce too.

As a home cook, last weekend, I said to myself, “I miss that sauce” so I went ahead and researched about carbonara sauces. But they weren’t the ones I use to eat during senior high school. I researched more and I came upon alfredo sauces. With that in mind I made it. And successfully recreated the sauce during senior high school. Then I thought to myself, “how can I make this better?” then it started, I experimented and came with the perfect alfredo sauce recipe that I am willing to share.

Here is the recipe to my version of a tasty alfredo sauce:

Ingredients:

2 250ml all purpose cream 4 cloves of garlic 1/4 cup butter 1tsp salt and pepper 2tsp basil leaves 1 cup of grated parmesan cheese 1/4 cup of water

Instructions:

Mince the 4 cloves of garlic, use a small pot put over medium low heat, melt the butter, once melted add the garlic, saute(mix) for 5 mins, don’t let the garlic burn, add the salt and pepper, mix well. Then add the all purpose cream, stir until smooth before adding parmesan cheese. Then add the basil leaves. Use the 1/4 cup of water, add until to your desired consistency.

With that I share to all of you my take on an alfredo sauce. This sauce made me reminisce my senior high days.
